About Us
Founded in 1906, we have been present in the heart of Parkhead for over a century.
Situated on Burgher Street, just off Parkhead Cross, we are a church that passionately seeks to be involved in what God is doing in our local community.
Our Sunday service begins at 10.30am with tea and coffee and all are welcome to join us!
Who We Are
Service
As a church we remind ourselves that “Jesus came not to be served but to serve”. Whether it is putting out chairs on a Sunday morning or leading in one of our weekly programmes, we encourage people to follow the way of Jesus and get involved in serving.
Justice
The theme of justice comes up time and time again in the Bible, often alongside the idea that God has a deep concern for those who are poor and marginalised. We have found that this is a particularly important word for us as we serve in the East End of Glasgow.
Hospitality
Sitting round a table and sharing a meal with others was something that Jesus did so often, whether with his disciples, or with people that the rest of society thought were “sinners”. For this reason, you’ll find that welcome and hospitality are key features of all that we do as a church.
Authenticity
We want to be a church who are real about the struggles and troubles we face. God desires that we “share one another’s burdens” (Gal 6: 2, NLT) and so we encourage all of our people to be open and honest about the sin and brokenness that we experience in this life, both with each other and also with God.
We are part of the Church of the Nazarene, a church denomination which currently works in over 160 countries across the world. If you’d like to find out more about our Church, its beliefs or history then please click here: https://www.nazarene.org/
